Welcome back to the blog! This week I will be sharing another post in the Homemaking Series.
If you are a homemaker you already know that this is a career choice that is often frowned upon and snubbed by society in general.
Society has a tendency to base their opinions of others by the job title they hold, how much money they make, what type of car they drive, etc.
If you are able to see past society's norms you may just realize what really matters.
Homemaking, at least in my opinion, is the most rewarding career choice you can make.
Granted you will not have a weekly salary but you will be paid in love and respect by your family.
Homemaking requires you to perform a variety of skills. Most people think all a homemaker does is cook and clean. They don't realize how many more aspects there really is to being a homemaker. Everything from organization skills, creating and maintaining multiple schedules, budgeting, decorating, home health care, nutrition , child care, caring for elderly, volunteer work, running business, maintaining and creating a clean and comfortable home, and the list goes on .
Homemaking is an art form. We are cultivating a cozy safe haven for family, friends, and community. Homemakers provide both mental and emotional support to everyone they cross paths with.
Providing a calm, quiet, peaceful place that people know they can turn to does more for emotional and mental health than anything else. Everyone needs to know they have a safe place to turn too.
When you are a homemaker you quietly set the precedence for the overall mood of your home.
Your attitude will be picked up on and influence other members of the family. Do you want chaos and stress filling your home or do you want love, peace, and comfort filling your home?
We quietly and discreetly set the overall tone of the house so make it a great one.

The band Alabama sums it up best with the lyrics “I'm in a hurry to get nowhere fast”. Society has taught us to always be busy, thriving for more possessions than the person next to you. What we really need is to slow down, own less, be more self-reliant, spend more time in nature and breathe in that beautiful fresh air, plant a garden and enjoy time with your family because in the end love is the only thing you take with you and leave behind.
Whether you're a full-time or part-time homemaker, celebrate! You deserve a round of applause. Being a homemaker is one of the hardest and most rewarding things you can do.
