Why Homemaking Is A Super - Power In A Fast-Paced World

Welcome back to the blog! This week I will be sharing another post in the Homemaking Series. If you are a homemaker you already know that this is a career choice that is often frowned upon and snubbed by society in general. Society has a tendency to base their opinions of others by the job title they hold, how much money they make, what type of car they drive, etc.  If you are able to see past society's norms you may just realize what really matters.  Homemaking, at least in my opinion, is the most rewarding career choice you can make.  Granted you will not have a weekly salary but you will be paid in love and respect by your family.  Homemaking requires you to perform a variety of skills. Most people think all a homemaker does is cook and clean. They don't realize how many more aspects there really is to being a homemaker. Everything from organization skills, creating and maintaining multiple schedules, budgeting, decorating, home health care, nutrition , child care,...

10 Habits of Highly Effective Homemakers That Will Transform Your Life

It takes a strong and special type of woman to make the choice to become a homemaker. I chose to be a homemaker when my daughter was born and my husband strongly supported that decision. Unfortunately, society has a tendency to look down on homemakers so you will need to have a good support system.  I was blessed to be able to stay home full-time and homeschool my daughter and I would not change the choice I made. By homeschooling we were able to focus on things she was passionate about that just wasn't available in traditional schooling. Because of this she went to work as an entertainment writer and junior editor straight out of high school.  It takes a lot of patience, support, and organization to be a highly effective homemaker. Many people don't realize how much work is involved. Contrary to belief, we are not sitting in front of the TV all day eating bon-bons ( do they still make those?)  Aside from keeping a clean and tidy home, we are in charge of meal planning, ...

8 Quick Tips for Always Having A Clean Home

Have you ever visited a friend or family member at their house and wondered how their house is so clean? Today I will be sharing some quick and easy tips you can do everyday that will make you one of those people that you envy. Quick Tips Don't worry, the tips I'm about to share with you will not require you to spend hours cleaning everyday, you will only need a few minutes throughout the day to accomplish this. Tip Three Wipe down bathroom counters in the morning Tip Four Wipe down kitchen counters and kitchen tables every time you use the kitchen. Tip Five Wash, Dry, and put away dishes every time you use them. This keeps them from piling up and ma...

A Homemaker's Schedule

Good morning and welcome back to the blog. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today I will be sharing my schedule for homemaking that I have perfected over the last 27 years. Over the years my Homemaking schedule has changed. Our daughter is now grown and homeschooling is no longer a part of my schedule. You would think that would open up quite a bit of free time however I have found plenty of things to fill the space. For years now we have been taking care of my elderly parents, everything from pharmacy runs, grocery shopping, cleaning for them, laundry, and taking them to doctors appointments. We have also been focusing on helping neighbors when we can as well as blogging and I will be starting a podcast in the next few months. So here is my Homemaker Schedule. You can use this schedule or adjust it to fit your life.  Me Time I start my morning routine at  6:00 AM .  I get up and do my yoga, meditation, and Bible study.  At 7:15  AM I have my first coffee o...

The Art of Homemaking

The Art of Homemaking The simple art of homemaking means turning your house into a home. A calming, clean, safe place for yourself, your family, and guests. You want people including guests to feel welcome in your home. It doesn't need to look like a museum or something. A simple, cozy, warm, and welcoming home is fairly easy to accomplish. I have been a Homemaker for 27 years. I absolutely love creating a peaceful and beautiful home for my family. It takes a special person to take on the role of Homemaker. You have to be creative first of all. You will be in charge of deciding how to decorate your home with what you have on hand and how to use those items to create a beautiful, peaceful, cozy home. You will also need to be extremely organized. Without organization you will become overwhelmed very quickly. I will cover a Homemaking schedule in another blog post that will help you organize your time. Taking care of Family Taking care of your family should always be the first prior...
