Welcome back to the blog! I'm so happy you're here today. Instead of setting the typical unrealistic resolutions for the year, I have decided to set small achievable goals that I can actually commit myself to throughout the entire year. 2026 is my glow-up year where I will finally and for the first time in my life put myself and my needs first and foremost.
I have spent weeks working on what I want for 2026 and through a lot of meditation work I have set seven goals for myself this year.
Letting Go Of Toxic Relationships and Protecting My Peace
I actually started letting go of toxic people in May when my dad passed away. I learned really fast who deserved a seat at my table and who didn't. It really is amazing how much peace you gain when you let go of toxic people in your life whether they are friends or family.
There is nothing I enjoy more than my daily one mile walk. I take my time and don't rush my walk. I love having that special time to myself and being outdoors. The sunshine really helps me mentally. I'm one of those people that has to have sun and fresh air to feel alive. Living in Florida where it's warm even in the winter months really helps but if it's raining and I can't get outside I just pull up a walk at home video on YouTube.
Deepening My Spiritual Practice With Intention
My spiritual practice has always been a top priority for me and it has been the only thing to get me through losing my dad. I have dove deep into my practice in the past year and I have been expanding my spiritual practice. One thing that I added was the Insight Timer App. You can read my full review on the app here.
Building a Consistent Reading and Writing Routine
Reading Routine
Reading has always been a great escape for me however, like many of you I do have reading slumps. This year I have started adding audiobooks into the mix and it has really helped me get back into reading. I now use a combination of audio, Kindle, and print books and I'm reading on average three or more books a week.
Writing Routine
I have been blogging for years and I love the writing process. Unfortunately social media has taken up so much time that I haven't been able to spend enough time writing. This year social media will be taking a backseat and I will be focusing on writing.
Expanding My Knowledge Through Online Learning
There is nothing I love more than learning new things. Over the years I have taken a ton of courses. Everything from blogging, social media management, SEO, herbalism, meditation teacher, and I'm even an ordained minister. This year will not be any different. I have already signed up for several courses through Udemy and I can't wait to get started.
Prioritizing Myself and My Well Being
Like most of you, this will probably be the hardest part for me. I have always put everyone else and their needs ahead of my own. A little tip though, once you let go of the toxic people in your life, putting yourself first is a lot easier. As I mentioned earlier, I lost my dad in May and I still haven't recovered. I have replaced doom scrolling with reading and writing and that is really helping. I plan on going analog as much as possible this year.
This year I really need to focus on my mental health and learning to cope with my grief and that's exactly how I plan on prioritizing myself.
Growing My Tarot Practice and Connecting With More Clients
I have been wanting to make more time for my tarot readings so I can take on more clients and this is the year that I will finally set aside the time that I need.
What is your glow-up plan for the year? Let me know in the comments.
