Good morning everyone and welcome back to the blog.
Like many people the food prices at the grocery store have started giving me major anxiety.
I mean seriously, even ramen noodles have gone up in price. That used to be my go-to food to penny pinch for my family, well that and eggs. Don't even get me started on egg prices. I only get eggs now when my brother brings me some from his backyard chickens.
Ground beef is another thing that is just out of budget now and my brother told me to switch to ground sausage instead of beef because it was cheaper and had a better flavor. So I gave it a try and he was right.
I have started making tacos, spaghetti, and all my pasta dishes with ground sausage.
To be honest, I don't know if I will ever go back to ground beef.
The first thing you will notice is that I use Walmart brand everything to save money.
Spaghetti with a Twist
Ingredients
1 roll premium ground sausage
1 jar of traditional ( you can use any type) spaghetti sauce
1 box half length spaghetti noodles
Directions
Brown sausage thoroughly and add a jar of spaghetti sauce. Cover and simmer.
Boil noodles until tender, then drain. I add a tablespoon of butter to my noodles but that's optional.
Combine noodles and spaghetti sauce mixture and enjoy.
This usually is enough for two meals for my family of three.
Hope you enjoy it.
