Don't Let the Devil Ride by Ace Atkins

Title

Don't Let the Devil Ride

Author

Ace Atkins

Synopsis

Addison McKellar isn't clueless - she knows she and her husband Dean don't have the perfect marriage - but she's still shocked when he completely vanishes from her life. At first Addison is annoyed, but as days stretch into a week and she's repeatedly stonewalled by Dean's friends and associates, her frustration turns into genuine alarm. When even the police seem dismissive of her concerns, Addison turns to an old friend of her father's, legendary Memphis PI Porter Hayes.

Porter and Addison begin to dig deeper into Dean's affairs and quickly discover that he was never the hardworking business owner and family man he pretended to be. As they piece together the connections between a hook- handed mercenary, one of Elvis's former leading ladies, and a man posing as an FBI agent, it becomes clear that Dean was deeply enmeshed in a high- stakes web of international intrigue, and Porter and Addison aren't the only ones looking for him. Dean angered some very dangerous people before he disappeared - people who have already killed to get what they want - and they won't hesitate to come after his family to even the score.

Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Favorite character: Porter Hayes

Give me a Southern Setting, charismatic characters, mystery, and intrigue and I'm in for the ride.

Honestly there were so many characters introduced in the beginning of this book I wasn't sure I would be able to keep up with them all . Typically I binge read books but this book was too complex for me to speed read.

I spent several days reading and although there were some characters I could have done without simply because I didn't like them ( kudos to the author for being able to make me hate a fictional character on a piece of paper by the way).

I found myself counting down to the chapters that focused on Porter Hayes.  I would love to see an entire series dedicated to the character Porter Hayes.

I loved the plot of the story and it had a nice steady pace throughout the entire book. If you are looking for mystery and intrigue this is definitely the book for you.

L'OREAL Paris Collagen Moisture Filler Daily Moisturizer Review

L’OREAL Paris sent me this free sample through the BzzAgent Sampling Program. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jennifer Reep Hall (@thejennhall) I received the Fragrance-Free Collagen Moisture Filler Daily Moisturizer.  A Touch of Luxury in a Jar My sensitive skin loves the fragrance-free part. It's important to note that I use this product twice daily.  Once in the morning as part of my morning skincare routine then apply my makeup, and as part of my evening skincare routine.  The first thing I noticed was the texture. It looks rich and creamy but it has a very light, luxurious feel on your skin. It absorbs quickly and hydrates the skin instantly.  I could feel a difference in my skin after the first use, I have really dry skin from living in Florida and thankfully this arrived when we were hitting triple-digit heat every day.  I apply the Collagen Moisture Filler to my face and neck ( a little bit goes a lon...
