Marvel’s most anticipated movie after next year's Black Panther (which looks amazing) and Avengers: Infinity War, is Captain Marvel, the first and only female-led Marvel Cinematic Universe film to date. Brie Larson is set to star as Carol Danvers, and according to Marvel Studios’ chief, Kevin Feige, she will be fighting the Skrull...and, apparently, Director Orson Krennic as well. Ben Mendelsohn has been cast as the film's lead villain, but his character’s identity has yet to be revealed. One could assume he's playing a Skrull, but you just never know with Marvel. CBS All Access’s brand new hit show Star Trek: Discovery, just got renewed for a second season . The show's future initially looked fairly bleak since many did not want to pay to get their Trek fix, and all the push backs for the premiere date. But it looks like the Discovery won the crowd over, because will be returning for a second season on CBS All Access and Netflix. According to Marc DeBevoise, CBS Interactive’s Director, the show has gained quite a following, and has increased subscriber growth in just six episodes, sparked fan interest over the globe, and earned critical acclaim. Star Trek Discovery continues to premiere every Sunday night on CBS All Access and Netflix. 

With Christmas fast approaching, Whovians are preparing for a tearful hour with this year's special, Twice Upon a Time, which will not only be Peter Capaldi’s swan song, but also current headwriter, Steven Moffat’s. But the future has never looked brighter for Doctor Who fans. In July, it was announced that Jodie Whittaker would be taking over the role following Peter Capaldi , making her the first female incarnation of the Doctor (outside of Children in Need specials). Replacing Steven Moffat will be Chris Chibnall of Broadchurch fame. Today, we were finally given another snippet of the Whittaker-led TARDIS, when the BBC gave us the announcement we’ve been waiting for since Pearl Mackie confirmed she, too, would be leaving this Christmas: who is the next companion?
