Social Media and Blogging


Welcome back to Biscotti & Bracelets.
I have noticed a lot of debating in the Blogging community lately over social media networks and whether or not bloggers should be active on all social media channels.

Last week some Twitter users were having issues accessing their accounts. Some people had their accounts shut down while others lost followers and could not get their followers back.
This was a major eye opener for me personally.

Twitter has always been my most active and my favorite social media network. Luckily, I was not affected by the “ Twitter Glitch”.

However, as I said this should be an eye opener for all of us bloggers. If Twitter goes down or glitches again, how many followers would you lose? I know I would lose most of my social media following.

I have a tendency to focus on Twitter and Instagram. These are my absolute favorites. Pinterest comes in next, YouTube, and last is Facebook. I very rarely use Facebook. In fact I just started a Facebook page for the blog a few weeks ago.

Personal opinion:
Yes, you should be on at least four social media channels. Do you have to be a Rock Star on everyone? No, but try to be active and communicate with your followers. Encourage your followers to follow you on all networks.

Plan ahead and always have a Plan B  in case of algorithms or shutdowns.

Why I Chose the Lifestyle Blogger Niche

  Good Morning! As many of you know, I have been blogging for years. Today I thought I would share with you how after creating and running multiple blogs in multiple niche's I would tell you how I came to the decision to become a lifestyle blogger. Many moons ago when I first started blogging when it was extremely popular I was always told you had to narrow down your niche. There were so many to choose from but if you wanted to grow this is how it was supposed to be done or so I was told. For years I ran multiple blogs including a family/ parenting, beauty, fashion, food, review, and entertainment blogs. Needless to say I was exhausted all the time from the constant content creation for the blogs and running multiple social media accounts for each one. I was also a SAHM , full time homeschool mom, and taking online classes myself on top of everything else.  I learned a lot over the years blogging but the biggest thing I learned is that what works for some people doesn't necess...
